He was predeceased by : his parents, Dewey Townsend and Velma Townsend (Sandlin); and his sisters, Mary Alma Townsend, Audrey Hartley (Sonny) and Dorothy Quarles (Jack).
He is survived by : his wife Doris Kizzire; his daughters, Donna Washburn and Kim Gladney (Van); and his granddaughters, Susan Washburn, Kat Washburn, Sarah Gladney and Mary Dawson Gladney. He is also survived by 4 nephews and 1 niece.
