Gloria Blackburn Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gloria Blackburn of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, born in Marshall, Missouri, who passed away on October 7, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Dr. John L. Blackburn; her parents, Oleva Wade Bullington and Floyd W. Bullington; and her brothers, Robert and Floyd Bullington, Jr..

She is survived by : her daughter Holly Blackburn Piper (Hal) of Tuscaloosa; her grandsons, Harry Mahoney Piper IV of New Orleans and John Mitchener Piper of Tuscaloosa; and her close friend Dr. John Blackburn. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Gloria and John L. Blackburn Academic Symposium of the Blackburn Institute at The University of Alabama or First Presbyterian Church.
