He was predeceased by: his parents, Lili Strickland and Clyde Strickland; his brothers-in-law, Don Barnes and Terrell Stewart; and his sibling's children, Tom Barnes and Teri Stewart Kirkendoll.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Turner Strickland; his sister Sue Barnes; his daughters, Susan Stabler (Stephen) and Missy Brazil (James); his grandchildren, Hill, Hayes Stabler, Garland and Lili Brazil; his sister-in-law Patsy Stewart; his nephew John Barnes; and also, David, Izzie Kirkendoll and Sherrill Barnes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be given to Christ Episcopal Church's Lazarus Ministry or Hospice of West Alabama.
