He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Weideman Armour and Betty Ruth Lanier Armour; his stepmother Virginia Rickman Armour; and his stepbrother John Rickman. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Bell Armour of Moultrie, Georgia.; his children, Joseph Armour (Emily), Harrison Armour and Jane Frances Armour; his granddaughter Claire Kennedy Armour; his sisters, Betsy Gumpert (Al) and Sarah Harris (Richard); his stepbrother David Rickman; and his in-laws, Jan Bell, Rick, Nancy Bell, Cleve, Marsha Bell, Kim and Ash Grimmett. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (721 Greensboro Ave, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joe's honor to First Baptist Church Tuscaloosa, the New Salem Cemetery Corporation, the Tuscaloosa County Baptist Association's building project "The Center," Good Samaritan Clinic, Community Soup Bowl, or to another Christian ministry of your choosing.
