He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Russell Lucas and Chester Weaver Lucas. He is survived by: his wife Sally Kay Ware Lucas; his daughter Lee Anne Lucas Ford; his grandson Alexander Cawood Ford of Tuscaloosa; his sister Barbara Susan Lucas Miller (Bernard) of Lexington, Kentucky; his nephews, Gary Miller (Lesley), Stephen Miller (Anne) and Bryan Miller (Alycia); his cousins, Rich Knauss of Orange County, California, Rob Knauss and Los Angeles; and his brothers-in-law, Eugene Kirk Ware II and Charleston of West Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to First Presbyterian Church Tuscaloosa or Hospice of West Alabama.
