We bid farewell to Carolyn Sue Thornburg of Tuscumbia, Alabama, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 7, 2025 at the age of 70. Carolyn touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Eugene and Ruby Pounders; and her sister Sharon Pounders. She is survived by: her husband Douglas N. Thornburg Sr.; her son Douglas N. Thornburg Jr.; her grandchildren, Braxton Thornburg, Tynslee Thornburg and Alexis Thornburg; her stepgrandchildren, Hagen Durham, Preston Durham, Jaylen Durham and Mayson Durham; her brothers, Stephen Pounders and Anthony Pounders; and her nephew Richard Pounders. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Morrison Funeral Home - Tuscumbia (825 N Main St, Tuscumbia, AL 35674). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
