He was predeceased by : his parents, Gladys Vandiver, and Dewey M. Vandiver, Sr.; and his siblings, James Vandiver, Everett Vandiver, Howard Vandiver and Helen Walker.

He is survived by : his children, Bradley Vandiver and Kimberly Sizemore; and his grandson Braylen Tuff Sizemore.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame (617 US-72, Tuscumbia, AL 35674). A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
