He was predeceased by: his wife Chrystelle Lawler; and his siblings, Essie Cardwell, Preston Lawler and Arnold Lawler. He is survived by: his children, Bobby Lawler, Tammy Cardwell and Robby Lawler; his grandson Christopher Cardwell; and his brothers, Tim Lawler and Ted Lawler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Williams Chapel United Methodist Church.
