He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas and Dot Cardwell. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Cardwell; his son Christopher Cardwell; his brother Tom Cardwell; his father-in-law Bob T. Lawler; his niece Crystal Cardwell; his great-nephew Matthew Gaither; and his brothers-in-law, Bobby and Robby Lawler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Williams Chapel.
