She was predeceased by : her parents, Dorothy Carlson and George Carlson of Denver; her husband Richard Francis Paxton; her sister Joyce Carlson Lowdermilk; her former life partner James Wallace Hudson of Grenada, MS.; and her grandson Steven James Brast.

She is survived by : her children, Cynthia Hudson Eldredge (Ernie) and George Wallace Hudson (Paula); her grandchildren, Jeanine Brast Peerson, Forest Wallace Hudson (Jessica) and Paul James Hudson; and her great grandchildren, Ella Grace Brast, Carter James Brast, Lanier Paige Peerson, Major Cosby Hudson, Cooper Wallace Hudson and Baylor Mayfield Hudson.
