He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Lincoln and Zelma Rie Simmons (Turner); and his brother Jacky "Butch" Simmons. He is survived by: his wife Julie Simmons; his children, Melanie McClure (Travis) and Scotty Simmons; his granddaughters, Amanda Plyler (Robert) and Santana Mack (Bryan Ward); his great grandchildren, Reece Cuellar, Nathan Plyler and Natalie Plyler; his granddaughter Lander; and his siblings, Vicki Simmons, Betty Graves, Linda Scholten, Retha Vaughn, Sheila Mack, Mickey Simmons and Kim Evans. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
