With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sammy Dale Thompson (Benton, Arkansas), born in Floral, Arkansas, who passed away on June 3, 2019 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Elva Thompson and John Thompson; his siblings, Herschel, Gerald Thompson and Margaret Cawthorn; and his daughter Lisa Thompson.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Tole; his children, Patti Thompson Ferguson (Max) of Little Rock and Tim Thompson (Heather) of Little Rock; his grandchildren, Heather Ferguson, Andrew Ferguson, Madeline Ferguson Ray (Matthew), Taren Patterson, Claire Thompson, Will Thompson and Matthew Thompson; his sibling's children, Jerry Thompson (Diane Cook), Sandra Baldridge, Debbie Dawson (Al), Robert Cawthorn (Karen McIntosh), Ron Bridger (John Bridger) and Greg Key (Julie Key); his sisters-in-law, Wanda Thompson, Katy Bridger (Harley) and Anita Key; Brittany Gay. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and all of their friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Legacy Fund at First United Methodist Church of Benton.
