He is survived by: his children, Ricky Melvin (Suzy), Ronnie Melvin (Debbie), Paulette Williams (Neil), Kay Chism (Terry) and Melissa Kelley (Steve); his siblings, Jerry, Bill Melvin, Ruby Haskins and Sue Ladue; and also Michael Glover. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
