She was predeceased by : her parents, Grant Penter and Velma Penter; her husband Tom; her siblings, Nathaniel Penter, Reba Clapper, Sue Nichols and Randy Penter; and her grandchild Joshua Askins.
She is survived by : her daughter Donna Askins; her son-in-law Jim Askins of Cibolo, Texas; her son Barry Thornell; her daughter-in-law Tonya Thornell of Alton, Illinois; and her grandchildren, Grant Thornell, Rita Thornell of Lubbock, Jennifer Daines (Brandon) of Colorado Springs, Kerry Nichols (Casey) of Clayton and Jayme Toerner (Clay) of Honolulu, Hawaii. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her death was due to complications of Alzheimer's disease.
