He is survived by : his wife Tammy Weaver Akers of Blytheville, Arkansas; his sons, Brandon Akers of Monroe and Joe Walters III (Kaylee); his siblings, Dale Akers of Blytheville, Billy Akers (Stacy), Susie Kirk (Tim), Connie Hutto (Don) and Debbie Goforth (Brian); and his grandchildren, Abby, Lela and Gabe Akers.
