He was predeceased by : his parents, J. C. Houston and Vadila Warren Houston; and his siblings, Fannie Belle Cumpler, Shirley Freeman, Hulen Houston and Eddie Wayne Houston.

He is survived by : his wife Vickie Houston; his children, James Houston (Buffy) of Pineville and Michelle Houston of Oxford; his brother Carlton Lee Houston (Betty) of Zavalla, Texas; his grandchildren, Autumn Houston, Cody Reynolds and Wesley Reynolds; and his great grandchildren, Trevor Layer, Hunter Houston, Hannah Ferguson and Skyler Phillips. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 18th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Oxford Cemetery (229 1st St, Oxford, AR 72565).
