She was predeceased by : her parents, William Eugene and Willie May Cogburn Davis; her husband J. D. Essman; her daughter Theresa Essman; her grandson Devon Essman; and her siblings, Bill Davis, Wendell Davis, Wayne Davis, Caroline Parrish and Willa Mae Fisk.

She is survived by : her children, Bo (Teresa Essman), Tommy (Lori Essman), Linda (Chester Carter) and Bobby Essman; and her siblings, John Davis, Judy Williams, Arlene Davis and Sherry Peterson. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
