He was predeceased by : his parents, Alfred A. Reed and Eula Mae McAlister Reed; his brother Olen Reed; and his parents-in-law, Pete and Irene Tevebaugh.

He is survived by : his wife Kay Reed; his sons, Hogan Reed of Gentry, Aaron Reed of Bella Vista and Nelson Reed (Kelsey) of Gentry; his siblings, Leighton Reed (Linda) of Kansas, Oklahoma and Alfa Mae Fell (Andy) of Searcy, Arkansas; and his sister-in-law Myrtle Sue Reed of Grove, Oklahoma.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
