He was predeceased by : his parents, Everett Dempsey and Iva Tunnell Dempsey; his son Mike Dempsey; and his siblings, JB Dempsey and Rebecca Hastings.
He is survived by : his wife Alta Jean Stauffer Dempsey of Gurdon; his children, David Dempsey (Tamra) of Gurdon, Rhonda Shepherd (Gary) of Arkadelphia and Denise Freeman (Tommy) of Arkadelphia; his siblings, Charles Dempsey of Prescott and Annette Harper of Little Rock; and his grandchildren, Brandon Dempsey, Amber Weems, Shane Dempsey, Jessica Taylor, Jason Shepherd, Billy Dempsey, Natasha Frazier, Jennifer Staggs, Dana Allen and Elizabeth Ezell. He is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Deceipher Cemetery Fund c/o First State Bank of Gurdon.
