He was predeceased by : his father Chris Nicholson. He is survived by : his mother Wilma Nicholson; his wife Marilyn Nicholson; his children, Scott Nicholson (Kelly), Jeff Kirkland (Cheryll) and Tracy Reynolds (Jeffrey); and his siblings, Diane Shockley (Ronald) and Ben Nicholson (Bette). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Springs Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.
