He is survived by : his wife Jan Dies; his children, Lisa Morris (Al), Lanny Beavers (Sherry), Todd Dies and Dana Hotho (Vince); his brother Donald Dies; his grandchildren, Chalyce Lee, Krista Dies and Kelcie Dies; his stepgrandsons, Tyler Priddy and Drake Priddy; and his great grandchildren, Payton, Piper, Weston, Benjamin and Emma.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or the American Cancer Society.
