She was predeceased by: her parents, Morris Powell and Maggie Dickson Powell; her husband Junior Purtle; her son Rickey Purtle; her granddaughter Lori Ann Johnson; and her siblings, Jesse Powell, Johnny Powell, Odel Powell, Sammy Powell, Loy Powell, Ora Bobo, Nora Weese, Dora Burns and Josephine Curtis.
She is survived by: her daughter Kathy Johnson (Larry); her daughter-in-law Faye Purtle; her grandchildren, Casey Purtle, Marissa Purtle, Matt Johnson (Tamara) and Nick Johnson (Jennifer); and her great grandchildren, Katie Johnson, Ellie Johnson, Gus Johnson, Caroline Johnson, Garrett Avery, Megan Avery and Will Avery. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home - Hope (403 S Main St, Hope, AR 71801). A funeral service was held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Laneburg Baptist Church (2775 US-371, Emmet, AR 71857). A burial was held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 at the Laneburg Cemetery (2775 US-371, Emmet, AR 71857).
