It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Theresa Maria Petrey of Jacksonville, Arkansas, who passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Walter K. Hanak and Dorothy Hanak; and her sister Cathy Miller. She is survived by: her husband Bennie Petrey; her sons, Jason and Zachary; her daughter-in-law Ada; her grandsons, Skye and Zion; and her siblings, David Hanak (Nela) and Cindy Hunter (Bryce). She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephew.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Smith Family Funeral Home (8801 Knoedl Ct, Little Rock, AR 72205). A rosary was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church (1321 S Van Buren St, Little Rock, AR 72204).
In lieu of flowers, Theresa's compassion for the blind community, she would wish donations to the Arkansas Council of the Blind, 1244 Woodcreek Lane, Fayetteville, AR 72701.
