He was predeceased by: his parents, Hebert Sledge and Zora Atkinson Sledge; and his siblings, H. A. Sledge, Harold Sledge, Loyd Sledge, Ronnie Sledge, Margaret Sledge of Dermott, Sylvia Sledge of Dermott and Shirley Hicks of Dermott.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Kolb Sledge of Mount Holly; his children, Kristy Waxley (Jason) of Smackover and Allen Dunn (Allison) of Star City; his grandchildren, Tyler (Taylor), Cole, Landon Waxley, Kaylee and Chason Dunn; and his great grandchild Josette Kate Waxley.
