He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, James Walter McCarter and Ida Elizabeth Garrison McCarter; his wife Ruby Hughes McCarter; his children, Andy McCarter, Mike (Laurie McCarter), David (Tammy McCarter) and Kathleen Jackson of Greenwood; his grandchildren, Walter (Brittany McCarter), Wade (Sara McCarter), Budger (Teresa McCarter), Mandy (Phillip Manwering), Andy Jackson and Matthew Jackson (Rusty Jackson); his great grandchildren, Weston McCarter, Colten McCarter and Kamron McCarter; and his brother Tommy McCarter of Oktaha, Oklahoma. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
