He was predeceased by: his father James Rankin; and his grandparents, Raymond (Cookie), Lenora Rankin (Pete), Sammie and Nova Baker.
He is survived by: his mother Ruth Lancaster (Othel) of Nimrod; his children, Teddy McCarty (Alan) of Summerville and Samuel Rankin (Rochelle) of Birchwood, Tennessee; his siblings, Jay Rankin (Michelle) of Nimrod, Cindi Davidson of Little Rock, Angeleak Phillips (Scott) of Louisville and Serena Skinner (Jimmy) of Nimrod; and his grandchildren, Hayden, Samuel, Rainey and Lakota McCarty. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
