He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Sears and Mary Cushing Sears. He is survived by: his children, Lt. Colonel David Sears and Teresa Sears; his siblings, Charlotte Lacey, Beverly Wells and Michael Sears; his nieces and nephews, William Griffin, Sr., Larry Sears, Michelle Williams (Daren) and Rebecca Griffin; his great-niece Clestine Mattox (Bud); his great-nephew William Griffin, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Cody Jackson (Sierra), Dakota Mattox and Jonathan Mattox (Jessica). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
