It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bertha Lee Adams Thomas (Pine Bluff, Arkansas), born in Pastoria, Arkansas, who passed away on January 30, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Earnest Adams and Beatrice Adams; her husband Curlee Thomas; her siblings, Allene Adams, Earnest Adams, Jr., J. C. Adams and Adolphus D. Adams; and her children, Dr. E. L. Thomas, Paul A. Thomas, Martin Thomas and Carol A. Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Rev. Edward E. Thomas (Shirley) of Milwaukee, WI, Rev. Joseph E. Thomas (Valory) of Olive Branch, MS, Laura T. Davis (Charles) of Sachse, TX, Emma J. Brooks (David) of Milwaukee, WI, Cynthia F. Reece (Thurman) of Houston, TX, Marcia L. Scott (Paul) and Miriam J. Thomas; her sisters, Dorothy Walker, Erma Todd, Arcola Adams of Milwaukee, WI and Mrs Jewel Presley (Edward) of Murfreesboro, TN; and her siblings-in-law, Rev. Clark E. Thomas (Hazel) of Pine Bluff, AR, Lois Thomas of Pine Bluff and Helen Thomas of Tucker, AR. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 9 great - great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 safety measures and health protocols, private funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 a. m. and will be limited to the family, persons assisting with the service and/or on program and invited guests.
