He was predeceased by: his parents, Holbert Worthen and Hazel Ashcraft Worthen; and his siblings, Gaylon Worthen and Rita Worthen. He is survived by: his wife Pat Eubanks Worthen; his children, Patti Worthen McVay (Joe) and David Scott Worthen; his stepson Steven Kimsey; his grandchildren, Crystal McVay, Chris McVay (Miranda), Kristi Worthen and Alissa Kimsey; his great grandchild Khloe Blevins; his brother Jesse Worthen; his nephews, Dean Worthen, Anthony Worthen, Robert Worthen and Jeffrey Worthen; and his niece Sherry.
