He was predeceased by: his daughter Donna Flora; his grandson Reed Atkinson; his parents, Loyd Sloate and Onia McConnel Sloate-Pippin; his stepfather Jack Pippin; and his siblings, Gene Sloate and Vicki Easter-Nichols.
He is survived by: his wife Erma Boyd Sloate; his children, Davena Greenfield (Devin) of Yale, Dana Holmes (Jeff) of Sallisaw, Adam Sloate (Laura) of Sheridan, Erica Rhoden of Hot Springs and Erin Atkinson (Jeff) of Ripley, Oklahoma; and his brother Eric Sloate (Elvia) of Owasso, Oklahoma. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.
