He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Owen and Mary Will Smith Owen; and his siblings, Hellon Ballew, Carrie Mae McClinton, Pebble Watt, Martha Lou Mayfield, Evelyn Johnston, Maxine Woolley, James Owen and Victor Owen.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian Oneita Cooper; his sisters, Eula Faye Hestand of Paragould, Joyce McFalls of Pine Bluff and Virginia Gillespie of Star City; his children, Wanda Akines (Danny) of White Hall and Herbert Owen, Jr. (Stephanie) of Woodbury, MN; his grandchildren, Danny, Jr. (Tracy), Johnny (Alexis), Bobby Akines (Becky), Sonya Cozad (James), Rachel Hunt (Josh), Kathryn Owen (Ben Urick) and Rebekah Owen; his great grandchildren, Daniel, Elizabeth, Cheyenne, Dakota, Kerian, Bryan Akines, Brooklyn McClellan (Stephan), Hannah Yelland (Eric), Caleb, Jeremy Cozad, Rochelle Payne, Emily Farmer, Holley, Gavin, Parker, Owen Hunt and Caroline Urick; and his great great grandchildren, Elijah Yelland and Gabriel McClellan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID, masks are required.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Arkansas Children's Hospital.
