He was predeceased by: his wife Louie Smith Walter; his stepson Joe McMahan; his siblings, Henry Walter, Lum Walter, Michel "Cos" Walter, Dan Walter, Hartie Bell Bost, Louise Waddle, Josie Graves, Lucy Cannon and Catherine Hubbard; and his great great grandchildren, Savannah and Nolan McMahan.
He is survived by: his stepson Lew Ray McMahan of Pine Bluff; and his brother John Walter of Texarkana, Arkansas. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
