He was predeceased by: his father Ted Phillips; and his stepfather Loyd B. Morgan, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Judy Broach Phillips; his daughter Somer Phillips Hankins (Michael) of Pine Bluff; his mother Vertie Mae Morgan of Pine Bluff; his siblings, Benny Morgan (Mary) of Camden, Kelly Morgan (Kay), Stanley Morgan (Vickie) of Pine Bluff, Michelle Morgan (Don) of Little Rock and Kathy Morgan; and his son Reverend Benny.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society, P. O. Box 2233, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71613-2233.
