He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Poye, Sr. and Naomi Lucille Brewer Poye; and his close friend Barbara Womble. He is survived by: his sons, Steve Poye and John Poye; his stepchildren, Chris Womble, Shawn Womble and Amanda Womble Cook; and his granddaughter Hanna Cook.
