He was predeceased by : his parents, Bev Gowan and Betty Sue Anderson (Schrinshear). He is survived by : his son Matthew Gowan; his granddaughter Gabriella Gowan; his former life partner Elizabeth Gowan; and his siblings, Thomas Lee Gowan (Gia) and Ann Michelle Gowan.
