It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Katy Sprankle Whitmire of Sheridan, Arkansas, who passed away on April 24, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Walter A. Sprankle and Blanche Hatchell Sprankle; her husband Carielee Whitmire; her siblings, Thomas R. Sprankle, Walda "Pinkie" Harrington and Nancy; her brother-in-law Bill Wade; and her grandson Dawson Whitmire.

She is survived by : her children, Walter L. Whitmire (Aleda) of Sheridan, William T. Whitmire (Kim) of Sheridan, Waylan Whitmire of Sheridan and Carla J. Childers of Sheridan; and her brother-in-law Larry Harrington of Sheridan. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Marlow Missionary Baptist Church (149 Grant 58, Sheridan, AR 72150). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
