He is survived by: his children, Tommy Mitchell Jr. (Robin) of Stuttgart and Shelley Carrigan (Fred) of Carlisle; his brother Troy Mitchell (Dean) of Stuttgart; his grandchildren, Mitchell Nordberg (Tiffany) of Carrollton, Clint Nordberg (Bridget) of Almyra, Elaina Sims (Bryce) of Tollville and Sarah Emfinger (Matthew) of Cabot; his great grandchildren, Kayden, Hunter of Carrollton, Eden, Garner of Tollville, Stella, Vincent of Cabot, Carter of Almyra, William, Margie McPherson and Dotsy Skarda; and his sister Sara Caroline Eldridge Mills.
