He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Cox Sr. and Rosa Pierce; his wife Joyce Allene Cox; his son Timothy Cox; and his grandchild Andrea Reyes.

He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela (Bruce Hunt) of Texarkana, Patricia Oglesby of Texarkana and Donna Kay Purifoy of Texarkana, Arkansas; and his grandchildren, Brandon Reyes, Jennifer Scott, Chad Westerman and Colton Westerman.
