He was predeceased by: his son David D. Brooks; his parents, Girvis Brooks and Jaunice Brooks (House); and his siblings, Linda Marvin, Brenda Hannah, Jimmy and Larry Brooks.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Brooks (Frederick); his children, Kathy Osborne (Gary) of Alma, Vicky Langston (Dickey) of Columbia, Kim Jones of Fort Smith and Dale Woodard of Alma; and his sister Sherry Engrav of Van Buren. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
