It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sylvester Strickland of Waldo, Arkansas, born in McNeil, Arkansas, who passed away on September 4, 2020, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, James Strickland and Irene Wesley Strickland; his siblings, J. C. Strickland, Lee Chester Strickland and Girtha Lee Strickland Harris; his wife Elizabeth Young Strickland; his children, Marcus Strickland of Hot Springs, AR, Shinetha Strickland of Hot Springs and Lavette Strickland of Texarkana; and his siblings, Henry "Joe" Anderson of Lewisville, AR, James Edward Strickland of Ft. Worth, TX, Bennie Ray Strickland of El Dorado, AR, Gloria Biddle of Texarkana, Lula Cooper of Dallas, TX and Bertha White of Hope, AR.. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.

Public viewing will be Friday, September 11, 2020 from noon until 4:00 p. m. at Henderson's Mortuary, 614 Calhoun Rd., Magnolia. *Social distancing will be practiced and masks are required for admittance.
