He was predeceased by : his parents, Randel and Lorraine (Spinks); his sisters, Debbie Reece and Rondell Kimbriel; his niece Dana McDougal; and his great-nieces, Jessica Atkinson and Stormy Sharp.

He is survived by : his children, Gary Vanzant and Lori (Todd Cito); his grandchildren, Christina, Rebecca, Austin and Alex; and his siblings, Connie Garrison, Randel Vanzant (Vonelle) and Lynn Reece (Preston). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
