He was predeceased by: his wife L. V. Metheny Clifton; his parents, John Clifton and Velora Vines Clifton; and his siblings, John Earl Clifton and Alma Clifton Davis.
He is survived by: his children, Dawna Whitehead of Wilmot, Darrell Clifton (Janet) of Wilmot, Bonita Herrington (Mike) of Mountain View and Clifford Clifton of Wilmot; his sister Clara Clifton Lovelady of Beech Grove; and his grandchildren, Jeffrey Clifton (Missy) of Rogers, Richard Clifton (Rebecca) of Prairie Grove, Danny Cannon (Amanda) of Bella Vista, John Whitehead of Little Rock, Beth Brown of Wilmot, Dawn Cannon of Fayetteville and April Carpenter (Josh) of Hot Springs. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
