It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christopher Gortarez (Avondale, Arizona), who passed away on August 14, 2018, at the age of 40, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandfather Carmen; his cousin David Hernandez; his nephew Daniel Gortarez; and also, Tata Harpo, Aunts Sylvia Gortarez, Stella "Willa" Bustamante and Lupe Orozco.

He is survived by: his parents, Johnny Gortarez and Belinda Gortarez; his wife Athena; his children, Christopher Jr., Sarina, Dezarae and Carmen; his grandsons, Anthony Jr. and Adien; his grandmothers, Ruth "Cookie" and Julie; his siblings, Johnny, Joseph, Crystal and Tammy; his goddaughters, Danielle, Avianna, Many Aunts and Uncles; and his cousins, Especially Tio Jimmy, Israel "Rene", Frankie "Jesus" and Alfonso "Squinky".
