She was predeceased by: her parents, Bethel Akery (Helm) and Perry Nelson; her siblings, Wayne Nelson and Dinah Folker; and her aunt Ida Nelson.

She is survived by: her pet Holly; her husband Edward; her son Jimmy Godfrey (Janelle); her stepdaughters, Brenda Bianco and Stacy Bianco; her grandsons, Brenden Godfrey and Nathan Godfrey; and her siblings, Gary Nelson, Michael Nelson, Mickey Nelson, Tim Nelson, Cheryl Nelson and Marie Gomillion. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
