He was predeceased by: his father Fernandez Tapia Sr.; and his sister Ernestine Tapia (Tina). He is survived by: his siblings, Cecilio Tapia (Shirley), Alex Tapia (Bernadette), Clara Tapia and Emily Tapia; his former wife Gloria Valencia; and his sons, Moses Tapia and Benjamine Tapia. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
