He was predeceased by: his brother Chris. He is survived by: his sibling Zak; his wife Cynthia Janz; his sons, Joshua and Josh; and also Steve.

Zak's family suggests memorials/donations to any of the following: Military Officers Association of America, Scholarship Fund, Luke AFB Chapter, in memory of MCPO Dennis J. Zaklan.
