She was predeceased by : her parents, Pedro Avelar and Guadalupe Avelar. She is survived by : her husband Edward; her children, Norbert (Barbara) and Letitia; her grandchildren, Lindsay (James), Kit (Kim), Matthew (Kassandra), Alexis (Fabian) and Katherine; her great grandchildren, Harper, Aydin, Lucy and WIlliam; and her siblings, Jay (Miriam) and Maria Eliza Ramirez (Alice). She is also survived by family that included many nieces, nephews, brother's-in-law and sister's-in-law.
