He was predeceased by: his parents, Ole Shay and Maude Shay; his wife Jane Shay; his son Sherman Oliver Shay, Jr.; and his siblings, Edward Shay and Helen Hicks.
He is survived by: his daughter Sheryl Ann Clayton (Gary) of Lake Havasu; his grandchildren, Wendy Birtcher (John) and Mark Clayton; his great grandchildren, Johnny Birtcher (Tori) and Kelsey Vangeison (Christian); and his great great grandchild Tatum Vangeison.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Elmwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
