He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ortiz and Florence Ortiz. He is survived by: his sons, Gregory and Walter; his granddaughters, Julia and Sofia; and his siblings, Gloria (Izzo) and Edgar. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary (200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona (2929 E Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024).
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Wounded Warrior Project in Walter's memory.
