He was predeceased by: his parents, Thyrle Stapley and Ruth Openshaw Stapley; his spouse Loraine Doris Garrett; his daughter Vicki Jeanne (Dale Porter); and his brothers, James Paul Stapley (Cleo), Richard Del Stapley (Irma Dawn) and Don Karl Stapley.
He is survived by: his sons, Alfred Thyrle, Jr. (Roberta), David Ross (Marcia) and John "Jack" Garrett (Melody). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
